I have 3 kids...well, they were kids. One will be finishing his last day of Junior year, one will be finishing her last day of 8th grade and one will be finishing her last day of 5th grade today. Facebook is cute. It decides to show me the memories of my son's graduation from kindergarten AND my daughters graduation from kindergarten today. It's funny how these milestones creep up on you and next thing you know you're at a major milestone like...first day of senior year, first day of high school. Let me just save you the drama, someone will do it better! Comparison is the thief of joy.
This is what I'm planning to do. Open Apple Music or YouTube, play "School's Out for Summer' by Alice Cooper when they walk in the door. Dance around a bit.
Give a solid hug and tell them I'm proud of them. Hey, that's enough! Will they remember the sign you made for them? The picture you took? Maybe. But it's the hug and your pride in them that they will remember.
